A personal connection to your world.
As the wife of a commercial pilot, Xena understands that a flying career reaches well beyond the airport. Time away from the cockpit can affect your livelihood, your family, and something you love doing.
EXPERIENCE THAT UNDERSTANDS YOUR WORLD
Dr. Kelly Harvey ("Xena")MILITARY EXPERIENCE. A PERSONAL COMMITMENT.
When your medical clearance affects your career, your plans, or your place in the cockpit, you want a physician who understands what is at stake.
Xena was Dr. Harvey's military call sign and is the name by which her patients refer to her to this day. She welcomes that same familiar name at Cleared Hot Aviation Medicine.
As an Air Force flight surgeon, Xena worked directly with flying squadrons, performed flight physicals, and helped pilots navigate the military medical waiver process when health issues affected their flight status. She later supervised flight surgeons as chief of flight medicine and served as chief of aerospace medicine in the Air National Guard.
That experience shapes the practice Xena is building at Cleared Hot: a place where aviators can expect to be heard, taken seriously, and supported as they work toward FAA medical clearance.

EXPERIENCE BEYOND THE EXAM ROOM
Xena has flown in high-performance aircraft, bombers, and C-130s. Her military role also involved aviation training, including 9G centrifuge and hypoxia-related training.
That firsthand exposure gives personal context to the physical demands, preparation, and responsibility that come with flying.

TRUST, BUILT OVER TIME

and my flying career.”

Your health matters. So does the life you have built around flying.
As the wife of a commercial pilot, Xena understands that a flying career reaches well beyond the airport. Time away from the cockpit can affect your livelihood, your family, and something you love doing.
Xena’s approach is to listen carefully, explain the process, and help you understand what comes next. She wants pilots to feel comfortable raising concerns and asking questions, especially when the path to medical clearance feels uncertain.
Dr. Harvey’s military experience taught her to support aviators while taking medical standards and flight safety seriously. She brings that same perspective to Cleared Hot: helping you work toward FAA medical clearance with care, preparation, and an understanding of your goals.
